The Australian Music Examinations Board

The Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) provide professional assessments of various musical instruments and music theory. AMEB is the most popular music exam system in Australia. Students are required to learn a set of exam pieces, typically from different time periods and in different styles. Depending on the exam they are preparing for, students may also be required to study technical works, aural skills, sight-reading, general knowledge and music theory.

Exams are available in person or online. Students will receive an exam report containing overall comments, suggestions and improvements by an examiner. Students who pass the exam will also receive a certificate. AMEB qualifications are nationally and internationally recognised.

At Meadow Music School, we prepare students for all types and levels of AMEB music exams, including Pianoforte, Piano for Leisure, Piano Repertoire and Music Theory exams. Our teachers will ensure that students have the genuine ability before scheduling an exam.

“We believe there is creativity in everyone, and it’s our role to awaken it.”
