Dear parents and students,
I am very pleased to share some exciting news about our fully developed music programs with you. I truly believe that all prospective students with any skill level will benefit greatly from the uniqueness of our music programs.
Throughout my careers as a piano teacher in past two decades, I noticed that many transfer students who came to me relied mostly on using one sense (visual) only when playing music. They often had difficulties in applying aural skills and music theory in practice.
Moreover, music examinations have become a tradition of music lessons in Australia. Unfortunately, parents, students and even teachers often have an impression that any aspects of music which are not examinable are considered as less important. Because of this, students rely heavily on memory when learning music and their musicality is eventually restricted.
In order to solve this problem, I conducted an extensive research on music pedagogy in Australia. My conclusion indicates that the methodology advocated by conductor Daniel Barenboim and pianist Idil Biret is the most ideal way of learning music. As a result, I formulated a comprehensive curriculum based on this methodology and my professional teaching experience in Australia.
In this way, students of Meadow Music School will have the unique opportunities to explore all aspects of music at early stages of music study. Students will learn to draw connections between different musical elements through a holistic and sensory experience. As a result, our programs will equip them with the essential knowledge and skills for becoming well-rounded musicians.
Our music programs are specifically designed to outperform other similar programs offered in the market. I sincerely hope that you will get on board with us for this wonderful journey. I strongly encourage and warmly welcome you to take a step forward and book your first lesson with us.
Yours faithfully,
Francis Leung
