Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music
The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is based in the United Kingdom. ABRSM is one of the largest and leading providers of music exams, conducting assessments in more than 90 countries each year. ABRSM is also a successful music publisher. Music publications by ABRSM are invaluable resources to music students of all levels. Students are required to learn exam pieces stated in the syllabus. A new syllabus is rolled out every two years. Depending on the type of exam students are sitting for, they may also be required to study scales and arpeggios, sight-reading, aural skills and music theory.
Exams are offered digitally or in person. Students will receive an exam report outlining general comments, suggestions and improvements for each exam piece performed. Students will also receive a certificate if they pass the exam. ABRSM qualifications are recognised for university entry nationally and internationally.
At Meadow Music School, we have extensive experience in teaching ABRSM syllabus. Students will receive full support along their preparation of exams.
“Working towards an ABRSM exam encourages learners to develop musical skills, knowledge and understanding, something that provides the foundation for a life-long love of music and the ability to share this with others.”
